OT: Large LCD monitors for PC

Wow, any time I feel tempted to envy folks elsewhere (e.g. when my
property tax bill arrives), I'll remember this thread...you poor
benighted souls that don't have genuine (NY) pizza available round the
corner. *sniff*

NY style pizza is available just about everywhere. We go to a decent place
that serves it here (though they don't know what it's called). I *much*
prefer good Chicago style, though, and it's much more difficult to find.
Of course, working it off again is another problem. ;)

Almost as hard as working off those taxes.

You can add a large brick or stone and pre-heat. Pizza from the barbecue
tastes wonderful.

But there has to be several hundred pounds of stone to do any good, even for
one pizza, and the pizza crust has to bake *on* the stone. Taste isn't the
entire issue here.

The krw retard would not know what is or is not an in or an out.

AlwaysWrong, AlwaysWrong, unlike you, who is wrong about everything, I do know
an inny from an outy.
He goes by what he hears, and that is seldom fed to him correctly, and
he is incapable of further dissemination.

We *ALL* know that you can't "feed" anyone, anything, correctly because you're
*always* wrong.
He probably still wipes his ass with his left forefinger.

....where you use your tongue because it's always there, ready.

Yes, actually I did pick it up there. Plus a lot of Indonesian stuff.
Some of it I really miss, like Bami Goreng and all the pickled vegetables.

Even in the far away lands of Zuid Limburg it was called pizza Hawaii ;-)
Have about 8 pizza Hawaii in the freezer right now :) :) :)

You drank the Kool-Aid. "NY style" pizza is a hoax everywhere I've seen
it--'a travesty of a mockery of a sham''

Oh, you've been "everywhere". ;-) Some is good, some not so. The local
stuff isn't called "NY style", but that's what it is. ...and a lot better
than most I found when I lived in NY.
It's rather like my rule of thumb that anything with 'science' in the
name isn't one.

It's not in their name, but that's what it is. The default pizza style really
is NY.
Actually I work those off every year. The pizza, on the other hand...

Of course. You spend all your time on the taxes and had none left for
yourself. ;-) ...or really :-(

Yeah, but are they homemade and then frozen? We usually never order
pizza delivered or buy one at the grocery store. In fact, once we had
people over here unexpectedly. They had the idea or "Oh, let's just
order pizza". We sheepishly announced we'd never done that and would
have to crack out the yellow pages ... "WHAT?"

They are from the PLUS market, factory frozen :)

But the Hawaii ones taste nice, thin crust and are not
dripping with cheese fat.

12-15 minutes with electric grill and bottom heat finishes
them properly, and after that, no leftovers. :)

Ok, I have done that very occasionally but only on business trips when I
had a suite with kitchen. Other than that we never buy frozen pizza.

The latter must be Atjar.

Did you got the real Indonesian food or the Chinese-Indonesian food? I
found out the hard way the Chinese-Indonesian restaurants over here do
not serve food that qualifies as either Chinese or Indonesian when I
started dating my wife (she is Chinese from Indonesia). Long story
short. I tried to surprise her with her favorite dish from a
take-away. When she saw the food she asked me what it was. I had to
show her the receipt to convince her I got the order right. A can of
Dutch *green-been soup would have been a better choice.

The documentation is so
lousy these days that it doesn't contain such specs.

More like you are just plain dense.

Are you still trying to fond "screen" in Control Panel?

Particularly since you have no experience with and or memory of the
"show modes my display won't do". switch or its location.

I had tried that, in my case the Intel graphics accelerator comes up. No
custom resolutions that include 1920x1080 :-(

But that doesn't mean much because it contains higher modes so there's
no technical reason why it shouldn't. Dell might have pulled it though.
Hopefully Dell tech support can answer that, I just sent a request.

Look, dude, plug the VGA OUTof the laptop into a 1080 display and THEN
LOOK! and THEN attempt to set it!

Try dual mode first, then the mode where you switch over to the TV (or
whatever).

THAT is how you do it.

Your laptop will ONLY allow you to feed it the native resolve,
especially if it is lower than what you are attempting.

All of the software you run on it works inside that realm.

3 DVI monitors and a big-ass TV off one cheap card.

Low res, low GPU intensive capacity. Try anything modern on it, and it
pukes.

I run two from one. If I wanted to run 4, I would add a card, not
switch out my 1 x 2 for a 1 x 4. That is just dumb on a multi PCI-e
MOBO.

You guys know nothing.

That's a *long* way from AlwaysWrong's $5K figure. It's firmly in the
"consumer" space.

It is firmly in the "saw the lame gullible consumer coming" space.

It has nil performance.

Certified for SolidWorks and Altium? Thought not.

There is an $89 1GB DDR5 460 at the store that will blow anything you
ever owned away. And that is their LOW END.

Because it ain't there on some computers. Someone else has tried and on
his it ain't there either. Unfortunately some large PC vendors
"customize" such stuff. I wish they'd left it alone.

I know that, and it's not a laptop. I do not have a 1080 display, what I
said is that I was contemplatring buying one. Dragging my desktop into
the store is hardly an option. Which is why I wrote to Dell, they
answered, and now I know for sure that it woiks.

No workie with desktop.

When you're wrong, move the goalposts. You do a *lot* of goal post moving.

Same response it was yesterday.

I spoke about a 4 port card that does DVI-D at hi res, and YOU move the
"goal posts" and post a shit card that barely can do 4 VGA ports.

Yeah, you're a real bright one there, KiethKeithStain.

You are essentially a goddamned idiot with a keyboard.

You know little or nothing about it, asshole.

You can spend the next several years trying to catch up, but you will
not. I have $3000 worth of graphics cards here within arms length to
prove it.

My OLD hardware puts your best to shame.

One day is pretty much like the last, because you're *always* wrong,
AlwaysWrong.

Not only are you always wrong, but you're a liar, too.
Yeah, you're a real bright one there, KiethKeithStain.

The (in)famous DimBulb is accusing others of not being too bright. That's
funny.

AlwaysWrong lives up to his name. Always.

Wow! I'm *so* impressed by the dim bulb's Usenet claims, DimBulb.
My OLD hardware puts your best to shame.

You really should try a woman (other than your mommy) some time. You might
find that you have no need to brag about your OLD "hardware". You might even
get it hard.
