BTW, have you come across any packaging like that? I could really use a DE-9
dongle sort of package to put a small circuit in. I'm trying to squeeze in a
DE-9 shell, but there isn't much room in there. ;-)

There are long, metallic shells by AMP. The cheap Chinese stuff hardly
ever is that large.

We have placed circuits inside the shells before.

I'd have to
drive to the theater alone though, my wife doesn't like Westerns because
of all the fights and shooting. Even though we both witnessed a genuine
saloon fight in Mariposa after an EMC test session. When the sheriff had
cleaned up I thought she'd want to go back to the hotel ... but ...
"Let's have another beer". Should have seen all the tourists scurrying
about. They thought this only happened on TV :)

Haven't been at the movie theater in years. One reason is that it's now
all digital and you can really see the pixels on the screen. Not so nice.
Huh? Must be going to cheap theaters. AMC theater here is fantastic.

Well, what'cha gonna do? I don't want to drive all the way to the Bay
Area to see a movie. I think our theaters are called Signature or something.

Just fucking download it and watch it.

I do not do illegal downloads, out of principle. And I don't have a
Netflix or any other subscription.

And the problem with viewing CBS or FOX or ABC online is....?

... that freshly released movies like this one do not show up there.
First they play in the movie theaters where they can command $6-10/seat.
Then they are released on DVD. Years later they might show up on TV.

Just email Abdul at that address. Not sure but I think he has them
custom made, might be willing to make a deal. Very friendly guy.

BTW, you do not need any overpriced GPIB garden hoses for this, a simple
USB cable will do. Unless you want to hook up lots of other GPIB gear to
that adapter.

Maybe I will. Custom isn't going to go over well, I don't think. Our
quantities are going to be rather small and I'm trying to sell this project as
being a give-away. So far, the best I've come up with is a DE-9
gender-changer housing. I'd like something a little more substantial than the
housing I found.

I looked at them today. It's not a GPIB connector back there, it's a DB-25F.

Maybe he can sell them to you as-is and you make the electronics match
this enclosure.

You might want to check out EMI shrouds. Cheap, metal, but maybe not
large enough.

Yuck. Weird. I remember some German gear having that. They absolutely
had to have their own standard. Which expectedly fizzled in the
marketplace. You could probably make an adapter but at some point this
gets old.
