It cannot detect cable signal, please help me fix it.

you havent given much to go

do other inputs on the TV work ok ?
A/V, antenna input, DVD player etc ?

now does the cable signal connect to the TV ? is there an external cable set top box ?

I just bought it from the secondhand shop, Every thing is alright except it cannot detect cable signal, there's only 12 channel available even if i connect it to a cable, I suspect it is not a cable ready.

thats possible, google for a owners manual for it and see what it says

I only found this specification.
If it is still not possible to detect signal, do I need to buy a tv converter or what would be the right material to buy, i got less idea about this.
