Minimum wage implies minimum skills - what would motivate that guy/gal
behind the counter to take an interest in a McJob?

Oh, there are a variety of reasons. A desire for part time work.
Temporary work between other jobs. Work to supplement a fixed income.
Refreshing work outside of one's area of expertise, etc. etc.. etc...

There is no future to be had in the nether regions of a chain-store
business. Everybody knows it and acts rationally.

Well no one will get rich, but then not everyone is a money grubber.

With AmeriKKKa's manufacturing base all but gone, there is - ahahahahaha -
not much left that can be outsourced. What is left is low paying service
jobs.

And that is why AmeriKKKa's median wage is falling.

Perhaps give the field a split second jolt from a battery, when an rpm
sensor
indicates adequate speed. Use a diode, resistor, capacitor to have the
output
latch it into operation. The generator would engage and drop out
automatically. Crude functioning circuitry would be cake, with lots of
room to expand sophistication.

You don't need those either. Since the generation is due to self
inductance, any initial current is magnified by the process. And an initial
current is provided by the windings of the stator cutting through the
earth's magnetic field.

So, you just spin the generator, and you start to self induce from some
minute but ambient magnetic field.

Do it mechanically. Build a centrifugal governor into the nose cap
(or whatever it's called), and have its output feather the blades as
needed.

Mechanical control is almost always the worst option possible since it
involves bulk, grease and filth.

The only exception is if you are dealing with safety systems where bulk,
grease and filth can be tollerated.

Truthfullly, if they need electric power, they're spending a lot on
keeping people in the field - a few hundred dollars spent on a
store-bought windmill ( even Canadian Tire has these things now...) is
probably a much more reliable way of keeping cellphones and laptops
charged than some Mother Earth Almanac project.

7 Mph minimum for the CT mills.

THREEsliprings?

Wow! What is that?

Automotive Alternators have a fixed 3-phase stator, plus 6 rectifiers,
with a rotating field (TWOsliprings).
