How about $20 trip to home depot and you got now i use it for my spa safety to turn on tv dvd and in the house for lighting. All it need is 9v battery. Nice package alsoplug it in and it works. I don't maybe you like to reinvent the wheel.
Home automation is good using X10 also, but i am just trying to learn this stuff so digging deep into it, once and i am done with this i ll be using x10 for my future projects.
