RF Rain Detector Circuit Help

Hi Guys.

Im currently working on a university project which requires using a simple circuit to detect water and use it in a consumer product. We have chosen a rain detector as there aint too many options available with the device we have which is:

Basically, we want to connect this to a RF transmitter and receiver so when the rain detector is activated it sends the signal to a key ring carried around by the user. The RF Transmitter & receiver are:

Can anyone help me with connecting the circuit with the transmitters please.

Also, I noticed this product what does it do?

Many Thanks

The radio modules are not what you want. They would require a microcontroller on each side to operate and are serious overkill for what you are doing. I am not sure where to look for a simple on / off radio transmitter and receiver that is what you need.

Try looking into the 1-Wire protocol with Zigbee / X-Bee:

A buddy of mine in college used these radios to build a sensor network. I think this is close to what he was working on:

I'm not sure how much programming was actually involved, as I was working on a separate project at the time. Good luck with your project.
