Replacement cables for Creative Labs Home Theater/Cinema Cable ? (4 and 3 channel cables(?))

Hello,

It might not be possible to purchase the Creative Labs Home Theater/Cinema
Cable...

Somebody wrote me that there is nothing special to this cable.

This cable works as follows he wrote:

There is nothing 'magic' about the 3 to 4 cable to the S750. The S750
has four stereo 3.5mm jack sockets ( three bands on the plug. left, right
and ground). That gives you eight analogue inputs 2+2+2+2 ( or 7.1 as the
sub input is not given the status of a full channel only .1 ). The P.C. end
has only three plugs due to the lack of space on the sound card. To still
give you eight analogue channels two of the plugs are the four band type (
e.g. three channels and ground) that gives you 3+3+2 = 8. Any good quality
'HI-FI' amps will do, but the more you spend the better the sound quality
you will get (usually).

So from this it appears maybe this creative labs home theater cable can be
replaced with standard cables, maybe something like this:

3 cables which split as follows into 8 cables total:

Soundblaster outputs Receiver 7.1 analog inputs

----- 4 channels ------

------

----- 4 channels ------

------

------ 3 (?) channels ------
------

What's the name of these cables ?

What kind/type of cables are these ?

Where can I see these cables ?

Where can I purchase these cables ?

Would last cable be a 3 or 4 channel cable ? Maybe it don't matter.
(Loose hanging cable doesn't seem to smart so probably 3 channel cable )

In case a replacement cable is not possible maybe the following would be
possible:

I still have the original cable that came with the GigaWorks S750 or X-Fi
can't remember which... anyway this cable looks as follows:

So it has 3 inputs for the soundblaster and 4 outputs towards the gigaworks.

Maybe the 4 outputs are simply stereo channels/combined signals ?

If so then maybe each of the output can be further split into 2 analog
signals for a total of 8 analog outputs so they can be plugged into a
receiver ?!

That would be cool.

What kind/type of splitter cable would this be ?

Where can I see/purchase a couple ?

A "stereo splitter" cable/name would be logical and indeed it seems to
exist:

I would need a 1 female to 2 male stereo splitter.

The only thing I am not yet sure about is if the male plugs fit into the
receiver...

I would think so... but not sure... so it seem to be the same kind of
plugs...

So I will first try this out in the store to be absolutely sure !

And then I think I can go ahead and purchase a receiver if I can acquire 4
of these stereo splitter cables... which I think any good (electronics)
store should have ?!

But that might still be a problem... one electronics store stopped... so not
sure if there are any more good electronics stores here... so I ll have to
google that and if that fails maybe order over the internet if possible ?!


One last little concern is: "noise on the cables"... adding extra
connections like this might introduce some noise... or maybe not... but some
sound is better than no sound or crappy sound !

Good thing I checked...

I think it's actually RCA connectors on the receiver... not 100% sure but
99.9% sure

So I would probably need the connectors above in the picture...

This could actually mean that the creative labs home theater cable might be
useless if it doesn't have the RCA connectors ?! hmm me better check.

What kind of output is that called ?

Hmmm... me better check at the store ! what I need.

But they have model 1909 there... but probably same... need to check that
too !

Looking at those creative labs cables I noticed how two inputs had 3 marks,
and one input had 2 marks... so that indicates how many channels those
cables carry... well actually signal cables... because there would be a
ground too

So 4 channel plug looks like:

So 3 channel

One of those sections would probably be the ground... which leave 3 signals
for the first plug and 2 signals for the second plug.

The original cable that came with x-fi or gigaworks has this as well... so
it makes sense !

The output plugs look as second plug as well... so they probably have 2
signals as well which would mean they are stereo plugs...

So need a splitter for it... as I already wrote before...

Question is what kind of splitter...

Actually the question is even more complex then that...

The splitter cables themselfes are very short...

I might need an extension as well...

So after they are split I would need another set of cables to extend them to
the receiver... in case I want to put the receiver a bit further away...

All these connectors and extension cords might introduce noise ?! hmm.
