Kitchenaid Kettle 5KEK1522BCA temperature setting over sensitive

I have had this kettle for nearly 6 years and recently the temperature setting has become overly sensitive going from 60 to 100 with only a slight movement of the control around 95. Is there anything I can adjust or replace in the base unit?

New control.
Possibly a potentiometer but I doubt you will buy spares as such, things aren't designed to be repaired these days.
Time for a new kettle after 6 years, the element must be just about timeout.

I had the same problem with the ‘artisan’. A decent switch cleaner worked on mine. Spray it in the slider crevice and move the slider back and fourth several times.
This will only work if the slider tracks are not pitted or burnt. But surely worth a try as these kettles are really expensive.
