So I basically need help understand the way this circuit works. I'm not sure where VDC should be applied and once it is applied, what is the step-by-step process for what gets actuated depending on the switch position (SW-1 Dim/Brt)? Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

a lot more info would be helpful
what is the unit we are looking at ... make and model ?
what is that module to the right of the switch, the one your pencil is sitting on ?
it obviously does a lot of the control with help from the switch .... if we don't know what that is or what it does
it's going to be difficult to answer your questions
