Hi all,

I, and I'm sure many others, are heartily SICK of the endless abuse /
counter-abuse flame war that seems to go on between these people and those
others who can be bothered to take the time to read such nonsense.

It is way past the time of trying to apportion blame as to 'who started it' or
'who is responsible'. They, by their actions, are now all collectively
responsible. I am quite certain all this type of behaviour succeeds in
accomplishing is driving people away from what should be a useful newsgroup.

I for one would be much better pleased if this needless and utterly pointless
chatter drew to a quick close !

Calvin.

Then DO something about it. Whining is of no use to anyone.
These types *love* to hear the Noise of whining.
It is way past the time of trying to apportion blame as to 'who started it' or
'who is responsible'. They, by their actions, are now all collectively
responsible. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You are American right? Yeh thought so.
As naive a bunch of poor saps as were ever blown wind into :-/
That statement you have just made is the Very Reason WHY Trolls like Gymmy B0B/
JP Bengi survive. The tactic / strategy is to confuse every bystander to the
point where they are so pissed off the Group implodes.
Disconnected lethargical apathetic troglodytes,, as you read as,, contribute
heartily to their "fun".
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI am quite certain all this type of behaviour succeeds in
accomplishing is driving people away from what should be a useful newsgroup.
....and now you know WHY. Again, get off your butt and DO something other than
sit there and bleat!
I for one would be much better pleased if this needless and utterly pointless
chatter drew to a quick close !
I will bet you would. Like all self-centered people Uno Numero is most important
huh? <rhetorical>
The day you understand you are trying to be part of a community - one that is
supposed to be self regulating - is the day you will do more than just whine.

I have simply not had the time to check *every* Group and *every alias* that
GimmeButt uses. But I did *_do something_* when he started in on the Group I am
concerned for. I went and checked his posting habits out on Google.
Not hard, took all of an hour or two at the first pass. That is something *you
could do*. My first investigation was months ago. In the time between I have
watched this arsehole morph and evolve as he leaves one
dead group and moves onto the next.
The factors that ensure he will visit you and your threads?
*Where there is strong opinion voiced - particularly when one of the candid
posters has it all cocked up yet makes a good (believable) story of it.
*Where the "news reader" believes what they see as a screen view - meaning, the
computer operator has no skills or tools to "look at the back of the picture".
And little to no initiative to check that which is read for accuracy.
*Where the audience is largely focused on "getting something for nothing".
This is why he hangs out in Groups that would normally harbour one or two
professionals. They soon leave when he turns up :-/
*Where there is an inherent sociological theme or weakness he can play on.
Once identified he works that weakness to the max.
Bullshit you say?
Go check these three that I know of:
alt.pets.parrots.cockatiels<Pizza Girl> < Peizzo Guru> <Gym Bob>- Group dead.
alt.support.celiac <Gymmy Bob> <Gìmmìe Bob> <JP Bengi> - Group reduced.
alt.binaries.crafts.pictures<all of the above + numerous ID thefts/froggeries>.
There are many many more for the looking. Any Group where "average joe" types
hang out in discussing "personal problems" out in the open, he is there,
sniping away.
I first ran across him over in alt.home.repair last year. He had his "ass
whupped" as you 'mericuns say , good and hard.
He hasn't been back since, that I have noticed.
I am really very surprised PJMilligan has not joined in thrashing GimmeBUTTS
efforts here, if only for the cross-posting shit that GB so loves to start..
Maybe PJM is asleep or has the arsehole on KFd, or maybe like he says "'Some
days, it's just not worth chewing through the restraints."???
Whatever,, sitting back and saying "not my problem and I wish you all would
STFU" is NOT going to get this arsehole off your back.
Be proactive and throw the G00N out of the Group.

I cannot tell you "how To" as every Group is different so different strategies
apply. What I can tell you is that once you start on him he will pull every
trick that he knows. Whilst his Book is not big if you are not alert he will
create confusion.
Complain to Golden.net by all means but I can tell you from experience that
after numerous complaints from three of us over some weeks in one Group the only
outcome is his nym change to the J P Bengi alias which he claims is a Real Name
, another bit of BullShit.
I haven't seen him use his TeraNews account for a while so maybe we had a
success there also , who knows<shrug>.
It is pointless for one person to complain as any Sys.Admin. worth his salt will
label the complaints as KooK complaints.
IME the best results are gained from continually attacking his posts.
He soon runs out of Cut&Paste stories :-/

IF you yourself Calvin, after reading this, still want to do nothing, then do
yourself and this Group a big favour and *say nothing*.
Attacking the efforts of "the Good Guys" is worse than the apathy some users of
UseNEt adopt as "contribution" :-]

cheers

f00 wasere

ps..needless to say GimmeButts pleadings in response will cover the full
spectrum of mental illness, policing threats and "victim statements" as per his
usual MO, All even more verbose than this brief insight to the turds psychosis.

Ah, george, lying as usual. It wasn't a failure to cope, I was asked by
a friend to come work with him for more money than I could turn down, on
Internet Security projects at secure installations. This allows us to
expand our renewable energy work for years to come. I fund Green-Trust
almost completely out of my own pocket, and that takes cash, not
something easily found in the backwoods. Green-Trust is alive and well,
the research continues, and a new onsite researcher will be staying
there starting in August. We are building a new methane digester,
installing an compressed air starter on the VeggieGen since our winters
are to severe for the electric starter, and building a 17' wind
generator based on www.otherpower.com plans.

Some of us are to busy doing to pander to your needs for attention.

You missed all the times where the roles were reversed. Wayne was the
patient one, and george was the childish attacker. See how he quickly
accuses me of things he knows nothing about. When you have been around
here as many years as I have (much longer than gorge or Wayne), you see
cycles where folks who used to be patient get tired of the BS and just
start feeding it back. Wayne knows what he is doing, he just doesn't
always find the need to explain it in detail to those who are just
trying to pick a fight. The pickers then jump on "supposed" inaccuracies
because they don't understand the whole project.

I really don't care about their trolling conversation. I know Wayne has been
a complete asshole to me and others many times. I have observed his
childish attacks on what he doesn't understand too many times. George is
just very patient with an asshole like that and it makes them almost
indescernible.

He fits the troll label and I don't see his posts after a few chances. He
just needs to mature a lot.

Perhaps I should start posting some of Wayne's garbage here the way he likes
to behave?

Funny how I clean out my bozo bin every so often and the same ones end up

Wayne is just giving George just due. George has been posing here for

I'm pretty sure that nothing anyone writes or doesn't write will ever
cure George's obnoxious behavior. Still, if you have any ideas, I'll
be happy to consider them. In the meantime, the worst choice IMO is
letting foolishness go unanswered in order to avoid being attacked by
the fool. At least mocking his blunders usually induces some
entertaining verbal diarrhea, which oft times includes the latest
legends from Ghioland. In the most recent episode for instance, we
learned about the 3 loads of laundry per hour on a pint of fuel, and
the driving of 175 miles on the same 2.5 gallons of gas that powers a
week of laundry, yard equipment, and workshop loads, including an hour
and a quarter of welding! And we read about the insidiousness of
kitchen appliances, a cautionary tale well worth the sleepless nights
it may have inflicted upon more delicate readers. My own personal
favorite is now the temporary <snorf> 20 year-old workshop shed, but I
won't be surprised if he can top even that one sooner or later.
Apparently we're never gonna' get photos though. :-(

Steve.

That is excuse No.1.

Two years is the average experience for alternative lifestyle change.

You could not do it. You are not alone. As pointed out, two years, is
about the time the rose colored glasses get thrown out and reality sets
in. One could point out that computer work is touted as the one thing
that can be done from anywhere.

It is interesting that you chose to describe the experience as
"Backwoods", says a lot about your attitude.

Other excuses;

"We moved back to the city for the children's sake."

"It was so boring."

"There was no night life."

"The wife saw a snake and refused to stay."

The excuses are as varied as the people who think that a move to a rural
setting will make their life perfect.

Only a few are equipped to live the lifestyle. Only a few ever stay. And
two years is about the limit.

Yall have a nice day now, Yahear.

No wonder the "Its Time" bid failed :-/

Trouble is, this group is pretty disfunctional, but I can't see any real
sanctions or actions that can change this that aren't hugely time
consuming.

I came here while ago thinking there might be interesting exchanges, but
I don't think there's much can be done about the back biting except kill
filing them.

At the end of the day, none of us have the time to crusade against
idiots. There are too many of them.

As to the suggestion that the disruptive few will influence newcomers,
I'd guess that most newcomers will make up their own minds soon enough
who's worth talking to and who to ignore.

Sure there are reasonable and professionaI people lurking here, but
typically they don't have the time to rail against people, and have
better things to do.

Should we let the idiots win ? No, but let's ignore them and judge each
other by the contributions we make.

While I would like to roast you for this I can't, because you are only
one of thousands.

You left, for monetary gain. You are not suited to the life.

Your claims are for nought. I was only talking about "your" actions. You
have only confirmed my view. You can't live there and function. This is
the point.

But you are not alone. There are many who can't live the lifestyle but
support the concept.

And yes I make a modest income from what I do. I am also the last resort
for those who need help after being mauled by cowboys in the industry
and find that the system they bought does not work as expected.

I could point out that the "Guidance" of a person who can not live the
lifestyle might be suspect. This is at least the biggest problem in OZ
where the people who write the courses do not in fact live the concept.

I could also point out that Diesel who invented the diesel engine, did
so with the intent that it be run on vegetable oil. The concept is not
new. This might make some wonder whether you are only trying to
re-invent the wheel.

My only point was that you can not live the lifestyle and function as
you wish. End of argument.

I grew up on that property until I was 18, this is not a 1 year, or two
year experiment. I have been building off-grid technologies for most of
my life. I set up the system, and a co-worker will be continuing with my
guidance. As I'm the funding source for our research, I have to make
sure the funds keep coming in, while the research continues. You
were/are a for profit business, so you might not understand. You had
sales, and got to play with your customers equipment on their dime. We
play on our own dime It has to come from somewhere. Green Trust hasn't
stopped. We continue as ever, testing, inventing, living and reviewing.

Steve.

That is excuse No.1.

Two years is the average experience for alternative lifestyle change.

You could not do it. You are not alone. As pointed out, two years, is
about the time the rose colored glasses get thrown out and reality
sets in. One could point out that computer work is touted as the one
thing that can be done from anywhere.

It is interesting that you chose to describe the experience as
"Backwoods", says a lot about your attitude.

Other excuses;

"We moved back to the city for the children's sake."

"It was so boring."

"There was no night life."

"The wife saw a snake and refused to stay."

The excuses are as varied as the people who think that a move to a
rural setting will make their life perfect.

Only a few are equipped to live the lifestyle. Only a few ever stay.
And two years is about the limit.

Yall have a nice day now, Yahear.

Ah, george, lying as usual. It wasn't a failure to cope, I was asked
by a friend to come work with him for more money than I could turn
down, on Internet Security projects at secure installations. This
allows us to expand our renewable energy work for years to come. I
fund Green-Trust almost completely out of my own pocket, and that
takes cash, not something easily found in the backwoods. Green-Trust
is alive and well, the research continues, and a new onsite
researcher will be staying there starting in August. We are building
a new methane digester, installing an compressed air starter on the
VeggieGen since our winters are to severe for the electric starter,
and building a 17' wind generator based on www.otherpower.com plans.

Some of us are to busy doing to pander to your needs for attention.

And then there is you, the great Steve Spence, the man who has,
apparently, run back to the big smoke after failing to cope with
your alternative lifestyle.

Yesiree, the pair of you are a circus beyond compare.

Ditto George. You appear to have a lot of knowledge in this field

The group thanks you for your co-operation.

George, do you think out of courtesy to the rest of the news

that you could keep your attacks on Wayne to a distinct thread?
It's
really bad manners to keep trying to hijack every discussion to
renew
your battles.

What is this?

Well, there's your first problem right away: as I've been told many
times, everything above 1kWhr per day is the road to ruination. ;-)

But I can live the lifestyle, and have for many years. Both my wife and
I grew up on farms, used wind power for pumping water, burned wood for
heat, and captured rain water in cisterns. We raised our own food, both
animal and vegetable. We made our own maple syrup, and built a log house
with our own hands. I can do a better job of getting the word out on how
to do it by doing what I'm doing now, while my partners live onsite
implementing the skills I've learned over the years, and installing the
equipment I provide them. We are doing a much better job promoting
renewables than some self-righteous little turd like you whose only
skill is manufacturing weaknesses in others to try to make yourself look
important. I guess what it really comes down to is a persons motivation.
We do this to teach others, not to line our own pockets. There is no
profit motive here, so our advice is unbiased, and given with the
consumers best interests in mind instead of our own. But keep trying
george, someday you might bury an honest person with your BS. Won't you
feel real good then?
