AC inverter beeps

(I really hope the HELP! porch light's been left on for me at this site.)

I have built a portable solar power generator with a 18ah 12 volt battery source. I have a 600 Watt Samlex (PSW) inverter which I connect to the battery. The original power up of the unit several months ago was problem free. I did not check plug anything to the inverter, but the cooling fan could be heard running steadily.

Q: Why does the AC inverter beep nonstop? The fan runs. The green power light flickers very faintly with every beep. I plug in a clock, but it does not power the clock.

Why does the AC inverter beep nonstop?

That may be an acoustic error signal. Look up the manual of the inverter. What does it say?

This one manual may not be for your particular type of inverter, but often the error codes are the same.

Thank you very much for your reply. I'll consult the manual and do a bit of research on acoustic error signal.
I appreciate the disclaimer, too. I burn the thing to a delicate it's on me and nobody else.
