200kΩ or a 250kΩ for a replacement of a 220kΩ Trimmer Potentiometer Resistor

A good day to you at Electronics Point;

I’m replacing a 220kΩ Trimmer Potentiometer Resistor as it has dead spots; the nearest available size is a 200kΩ or a 250kΩ, please can you advise which one to fit, thank you.

You may probably be able to use either of the two.
If you need to come real close to 220 kΩ, use the 250 kΩ potentiometer and connect a 1.8 MΩ resistor across the endpoints of the potentiometer.
 
I tested the resistance value of the 4 new ones 220kΩ; they all varied around 211-219kΩ none were over.

I won’t know the exact resistance required; as to whether a 200kΩ or a 250kΩ for a replacement would have been alright for this Anagas Electronic Flue-Gas Analyser as will be sent away to a specialist for re-calibration and then that person probably won’t have a record of a known value?

I don't know who your 'specialist' is, but if you're sending this to somebody who repairs/calibrates this model, they may have the correct part on-hand, or be able to buy from the equipment mfgr. In any event, if he repairs/calibrates, he ought to return the instrument to you within factory specs.
