12V DC Motor (RS-550PC-8516) had some problem

when i connect my 12v dc motor to a 12v battery it produce lots of spark and dont really work...anybody know why is it happening?

Probably because you've cooked it.
The PC in the part number refers to 7.2v motor.

I'll bet you had some revs out of it for a short time....

The max suggested for that motor is 9.6vdc if you need 12v operation you need the VC version good for 14.4v.

If there are sparks, then it is probably a brushed motor with the brushes rubbing on to the commutator. Sparks will occur when the contact is not good such as when the brushes are worn out. Worn brushes can be replaced They can also occur when the armature is damaged and there are large voltages between commutator segments. In this case the motor is dead. Check that there is no sparking damage between two adjacent segments.
