I have a 115 AH battery and a 25 AH battery, and I have them connected in
parallel for gentle PV charging and also to the inverter.
I know the rule of thumb is not to use dissimilar capacity batteries in a
bank. However, the small battery was very cheap, and I don't care if its
lifetime is shortened. My main battery is connected to the inverter, and the
small battery is connected to the large battery with 12 GA wire. I don't
expect to discharge the main battery below 80%, and don't really care about
the small battery as long as it contributes a little.
What can I expect with this setup, long and short term? Any traps to look
out for?
Thanks,
Bob
