Why are SCR's recommended for inductive loads (and not Triacs)?

I have read that SCR's are recommended for inductive loads, while Triacs are not. Can anyone explain why this is so?
Thanks

On EEVBlog one quote is:
There is no reason to use dual scr, a single snubberless triac can do the same job with the same reliability and is easier to trigger than dual scr's.
Omron states:
Thyristors connected back-to-back or a triac can be used for Solid-state Relay switching elements.

Unless you experience very high dv/dt a triac should be perfectly useable.
