What can i do with Quartz Crystals?

Hi

i found this part in my kits and want to know what i could do with it. It is a 25 mhz quartz crystal. (pics are provided)

Any ideas? Could i use this in a circuit to produce waves, radar, telecommunications, etc.?

Might come in useful. Do you think i can make a wine glass break at that frequency?

No way.
1) a wine glass typically resonates at audible frequencies less than 20kHz
2) You won't find a speaker able to produce 25MHz sound.

How about from an LD? you can put frequencies into LD's and make that produce sounds since it can transfer music wirelessly.

Electro123. Here is how you break a glass with sound.

1) tap glass and make it ring.
2) record sound from glass
3) determine the dominant frequency
4) create a loud enough sound at that frequency and the glass will break.

I'll pay that. Probably the easiest way too. It would be easier if you can find a larger crystal or a strong rubber band to accelerate it!

Yes, but building a rail gun to launch the crystal would be more fun.

You can use a quartz crystal to combine crystal healing with acupuncture. They actually operate in the same way anyway. Just get a confident sympathetic person to jab the leads into your body until the general vague ill-feeling is alleviated.
