vt100 emulation to wireless connect netcomm device

Hey guys, I'm trying to put together a device similar or easier than what im using. something might be available and more reliable than the junk ive currently got.

First off this device used an rj45 cable to a 6 pin rj12 which connects to a netcomm wireless device. and then the ipad has a vt100 emulator which shows signal strength of the meter to its tower.

the device itself consists of the following

USR-WIFI232-Sa low power wifi module

(This allows the ipad to wirelessly connect to the meter

CE-A002 MP1580HS DC-DC power module

Factory supply DC-12680 6800mAh recharge 12V small lithium polymer battery
http://www.alibaba.com/product-deta...0250493867.html?spm=a2700.7724838.35.1.OD4pis
(powers everything)

also on the board is a fuse which stops the unit from blowing up the netcomm if the rj12 is plugged into its ethernet socket.
a rj45 connector (cable has rj45 on one end and a 6pin rj12 on the other
it also has a terminal point which connects to a lcd display which shows voltage of battery
and a terminal which connects to a switch to turn it on and off.

i guess what i really want to know is if there is something out there that might already be together to do this? or a raspberry pi maybe?

if you need anymore information let me know. any help is appreciated.
ill attach some photos later today
