Vibration sensor/switch

I'd like to have a device that closes an electrical circuit to energize the coil on a small relay or have the capability of handling 12 vdc load of 150 milli-amps. I've purchased small arduino circuits on ebay but discovered that they are normally closed circuits. I added a small relay with normally open and normally closed contacts but the battery energizing the circuit went dead too soon.

I need something that ideally doesn't require energy to operate. If anyone has any ideas as to whether there is something out there like this, I'd appreciate hearing from you.

I'm attempting to develop a battery powered standby device that would turn on a LED warning beacon when subjected to vibration or movement.

Welcome to EP.

Get a relay shield like e.g. this one. The relays will not draw current unless energized by the output of the arduino. Contacts are c/o, so you can use them as n/o or n/c, too.
