Toroidal transformer replacement

I want to replace a dead subwoofer transformer with a toroidal one. The original transformer was a 230V/12V 2.5A.

So far I've only been able to find dual secondaries torodial transformers. I understand their rating refers to the total output, so if I'm going to use just one secondary winding I'll be looking for a 60VA transformer (expecting 30VA).

My question - would it be possible to just connect both secondaries to the same rectifier circuit? My assumption is that won't work because of phase, but I would be really happy to know if that's correct. Thanks!

In general, identical secondaries are wound bi-filar, which essentially means they will be balanced when connected in parallel.
They each have to be in phase however!
This is generally indicated by the start of each winding.
