You could make a really BIG one and sell it to Hisbollah for swatting

Your first mistake is using IE. Firefox is free, and I think probably

Slight problem with firefox - it doesn't (as far as I can tell) allow
integration of DAP8, how do I restore IE to default browser and still keep
FF for when its needed?

Firefox allows the reverse: If you get the
extension "IE VIEW" ,you can right click on an
option to open current page in IE.
That way you never need IE as default browser.

Great idea - if only it worked!!!

Downloaded and installed extension and restarted firefox - no IE view icon,
rebooted - still no IE view icon!!! So how do I fix this browser that is
"not broken"?!

Have you made Firefox your default browser?

It is the default browser - that's the whole problem!!!

Its a real PITA that I can see no way to integrate Speedbit DAP8 download
manager into FF the same was it does with IE. If someone posts a link to a
pdf, DAP automatically accelerates the download and I can specify which
folder - FF opens the pdf instead of downloading it like I want (I wouldn't
have clicked the link otherwise!) and if I select the pulldown to save as FF
dumps it on the desktop so I have to keep weeding the desktop into my save
folder - I want a direct connection to the person who suggested I install
FF, so I can plug the cable into the wall socket and destroy their
computer!!!!!!!!!!

In Firefox...

Hi,

I have seen these "new" bug zappers formed like a tennis racquet on sale
lately and I am trying to figure out (without having opened one) how they
are working.

They are powered by 2 * 1,5 V batteries. This dc voltage is transformed into
an ac-signal (inverter) and used to charge a big capacitor (perhaps with
some kind of voltage multiplier in between).
When a bug short-circuits the wires on the racquet the energy in the
capacitor is discharged through it and it dies.

Am I on the right track or do I have to buy one and look inside? :)

Every time I go down to the Harbor Freight store I look at them and
say, do i really need one or want one. Well I guess I want to play with
one. They are $2.50, I mean what am I waiting for???

Doesn't matter now I uninstalled it - thank god for system restore,
uninstalling FF trashed IE and left me with no browser at all!!!

There are a few rare occasions where FF will work where IE won't, but on the
whole FF is worth precisely what it cost!!!

I've been very happy with it, particularly to nice extensions like
"NoScript".

I only use IE when some piece-a-crap software requires IE for
installation.

What operating system are you using?

Hmmm? I'm using FF on four machines, three are Win2K-Pro, one is
XP-Home. Nary a problem.
