Technostar microwave problems

technostar microwave/oven, works ok but when you open the door the house earth trip switches off,what is the problem please?

Is there anything else running on the same power line with your microwave and maybe drawing too much amperes?

thank you. the fridge freezer on same circuit, but this is not on all the time

Do you mean the RCD (residual current device, interuptor diferential) or the fuse?
In case of the RCD, a small imbalance in current between neutral and live wires (typically 30 mA for homes) trips the switch as it is assumed that the difference in current flows to earth somewhere creating danger of electric shock to persons. Imho there are two possibilities:

1. When opening the microwave door a current path is created between live (or neutral) ans earth. Possibly turning on the light within the microwave chamber may have that effect.
2. The RCD is out of specification and trips at too small a current.

Check #2 first by swapping the RCD with another one. If that still shows the same effect, the problem is within the microwave. As microwaves operate internally with dangerously high voltages and he tripping of the RCD shows that something potentially lethal is going on, I recommend you do not try to repair the unit by yourself. Get some expert help.

I agree Harald, but the easiest thing to do is probably plugging it into another outlet on a different circuit to see if it trips.
Most of the time the problem lies with the appliance, not the RCD (or GFCI as we call them)

Microwave ovens have interlocks to prevent RF being generated when the door is open.

There should be at least two interlocks so that if one fails you're still safe.

In at least one case, one of these interlocks removed power, the other placed a short across... Something.

Is it possible you have a failed interlock and the remaining one is tripping your mains fuse (which coincidentally is also an elcb?)

you say it is new, is it still under warranty ?
If the suggestion of trying it on another power outlet still shows the problem, return the oven to the shop for replacement
