Sylvania DVD VCR combo model # SSD803

Hi every one

I have a Sylvania DVD VCR combo model # SSD803. Will not play DVDs but will play mp3s and audio disks. Please help

When you say it won't play DVDs, what *exactly* do you mean?

When I insert a DVD (movie) format disk it won't play, but it will play mp3 and regular music CD

Does it look like it's reading it (could it be a region problem)? If you insert a region free DVD, does it play that?

Does it do anything different to what happens if you put a blank recordable DVD in the machine?

Have you tried burning music to DVD to see if it can read MP3s from a data DVD (if it could do so in the past and either does or doesn't now -- that may be a clue).
