Soldering battery cable to existing solder joint

Hi everyone,
1st time posting here. I have a battery cup for a 98mah battery that connects to pro sound equipment via 4 pin hirose.

Another sound mixer DIY’d the battery cup by soldering a 2nd power cable directly to the existing solder joint, that connects the original battery cable to the circuit board.

I was wondering if this was OK or if this could lead to shorts? Will this work fine or is there a better method?

No idea what you refer to as a battery cup nor what you refer to as a 4 pin hirose.

Best if you show a photo of what you have there.

What’s the purpose of the 2nd set of wires?
To add another battery? Or add another 4 pin hirose connector to control two units from your ‘battery cup’?.
Will it short circuit? Not if the soldering is done properly.

What’s the purpose of these units?

Ok, upon further reading and a video, these units supply battery power to equipment.
98mAh is awfully small. And if the circuitry is the charger, connecting two batteries in parallel may or may not damage the charging circuit.
At the very least, it will take twice as long to charge.
But battery chemistry matters here.
What battery is it?.

Does your equipment have a DC barrel jack for a plug in power supply?
You may get better results with a SLA battery and connect it to the DC power jack.

Thanks for the reply! So the battery cup delivers power to multiple devices: portable mixers, RF receivers/transmitters, etc. For our purposes in the field, 98mah can power our kit from 4-10 hours depending on how much gear we need. These batteries are charged on their proprietary chargers and then are seated in the cup, which delivers power to devices (via hirose or switchcraft connectors, not DC barrels).

the purpose of the 2nd wire is to power a second Piece of equipment. If the soldering is done cleanly with a proper joint, is this ok?

A parallel connection is fine if soldered properly and polarity is correct.
Supplying two pieces of equipment with one battery will naturally reduce the run time.
