My church was recently given a Sharp SF-2035 copier with the 20 bin
sorter and about 10 boxes of toner. Right now we are having problems
getting it working.
Problem #1
The guy who received it from a business powered it up in his garage.
It asked for a code, presumably the key operator code. He called the
business and they didn't remember what it was. It is a five digit
code. I read through the key operator's manual and it says that, if
the copier was reset to factory defaults, that the code is 00000. If
it's not that, is there any way to get past that short of calling the
copier repair man? I don't want to try brute forcing it, cause it
would take days to enter all 100,000 possibilities.
Problem #2
When he brought it to our church we powered it up and got a different
error. This error says "close sorter and sorter cover." As far as we
can tell the sorter is slid up next to the copier body like it should
be and all the sorter panels are closed. We can open other panels and
the display changes to reflect them being opened, but when they are
shut it goes back to the sorter error. We can't get past this one.
We've slid the sorter back and forth, it sounds like it locks into
place, but we have no luck. The copier and sorter are on a small
cart, kind of like a railroad, which the sorter travels on. This cart
has wheels on the bottom making it much easier to move around.
I would greatly appreciate any help or advice people can give to get
this copier going.
