Sharp SF-2035 copier problem

hi all, i have a Sharp SF-2035 copier that has a grinding/clicking noise
coming from the rear of the machine when switched on. it doesn't always
happen immediately but usually within the first 10 mins or so. all spindles
turn freely within the machine and there is no paper jammed or such like.
any ideas anyone? also needing an engineer in the liverpool area of UK to
quote for parts and repair this if any reading this posting? if not, a
service manual posting would be an appreciated start to identifying the
problem.
thanks
Shortie

That sounds like a problem that affected a lot of their
(and Xerox branded) copiers. There's a geared assembly
that pumps toner out of the cartridge that makes sounds
like that when it's breaking. Eventually it'll pump lots
of toner into the copier and ruin it.

Replacement parts are available, but they'll just break
again.

thanks for the feedback Mike, i also got told this from an engineer today.
he's quoted £45 callout/labour and just over £100 for all the parts and a
service of the whole machine to ensure its o.k. for use. i will only be
using it to make some manuals and schematics so no heavy use intended for
it. if i get a year out of it i'll be happy
