Sending data using GSM Sim900a to NoSQL database

Hi,
I am working on a project where I have to use a gsm module for cellular communication but it should be cheap and reliable to send data to any kind of database (SQL and NoSQL) for creating a web API. Can we have other option for GSM sim 900a which is better as this sim module support only 2g?
