RFID based traffic control

I am currently making a project on rfid based traffic control
system.
For this I require rfid having range of say 10cm and MF range (for the
model).
Can some one help me with INTERFACING RFID WITH MICRO CONTROLLER also
what is the cost of rfid reader, writer and tags?
Are they reliable?
Any site links or reference books will also be welcomed.

Thanks for the search. I got the information about RFID. Also kits
are there for interfacing with computer using RS232.

But i did not find any INTERFACING with MICRO-CONTROLLER.
please help me with this.
