RF/WiFi Relay

Hi all,
I need to build a wireless relay system.

Basically, there is a system that will open/close a dry contact switch, which need to then activate a light elsewhere in the building (line of sight is possible).

I'm thinking it will probably be easier/cheaper to design it around RF.

I'm pretty useless with designing things. Anyone got any thoughts?
