Relay Type?

Hey guys,
Hope everyone’s keeping safe!

What I’m trying to achieve is a piezo buzzer/chime to activate/sound when a momentary button is pressed. (A doorbell but over Cat5e)

The button is a five wire momentary button with an LED. Configuration; NC, C, NO, + & -
The piezo is a 2 wire; + & -
The wire from the button to the buzzer is; 45m of Cat5e
Power adaptor used is located on the buzzer side and is a 12vDC 1A

I might have been wiring it wrong, but I just can’t seem to get it to work, which makes me believe that I might need a relay for it to work. However, I’ve no idea what type of relay that I would need and haven’t been able to find one on Aliexpress.

I dont really have too much experience with relays and would love to get some options or ideas.

Many thanks in advance & stay safe!

Oh yes, sorry I had completely forgot. The positive & negative are for the LED, while the; NC & C are for the button.

oh right sorry, rooky mistake. These are the parts apart from the 45m of Cat5e cable; A button, Piezo buzzer & the Cat5e cable, the blue thing is a 5 wire socket plug for a 5 pin switch, I do apologize in advance if I missed anything.

Try the buzzer alone to 12VDC. If works, connect the switch in series, no relay.

Thanks guys for all your ideas, it looks like I simply may have wired it incorrectly! I'll have to try everything out on the weekend, but I'll let you know how I get on.

Out of curiosity, what does the symbol mean in the middle? Also where the heck are you guys making all these cool diagrams, in word or a particular website?

That would be the switch internal LED and associated resistor.
Software is old....circuitmaker 2000 but there are others out there and some free these days for hobby use etc.

Hi everyone,
Thanks again for your posts & apologies for the radio salience.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to put a pause on this. It'll involve some woodworking and such. Once my brothers back though, we'll be finishing this off and I'll let you know the outcome. :)
Thanks again!
Cheers

Hello guys,
Hope you're all well!

My brother had helped me just last weekend installing the press and bell, unfortunately it did not work.

I suppose it comes down to the incorrect type of wire for the distance, not too sure? In any case I'll keep trying a couple more things but I'm thinking I might have to shelf this one.

Thanks again! : )
