Outboard motor - old plug socket - supplier?

Friend has a 40 hp 2 stroke outboard motor , not sure of the make.
Power connector plug is damaged, need replacing, where can he get?
It must be ancient, its marked GEC!
Its round and has a similar look to a car trailer fitting, a plug with 6
female receptacle , pins fitted on motor connector.

Pins laid out in a circle with 2 large and 4 small, in the arrangement
small,small,small,large, small, large.

Any ideas?

GEC connector seems something else today.
Contact specific motor supply ?

Possibly use a trailer connector to replace adding a separate high current starting contacts or just hardwire.

If I am correct, your friend is second on line - for the last one (in
short SOL).
GEC was Gale Engine Company, a part of OMC until the the late 60's
(IIRC). Gale engine and Gale products sold things that were try-outs
for Johnson, Evenrude, Lawnboy, Ryan, Pioneer and Cushman. They abandon
that plug and did not advance it to the primary marine products because
it didn't work. They stayed two cables that went on wing nut
terminals for starting power and a ganged connector for the the rest of
the hookup. That is what we used to change them to when the plug went
bad.

Paul,

If it is the script GEC of the later GEC/Plessey, I suspect you are
still out of luck.

The connector does look like the Gale connector of the 60's.
