awesome start !! :)

tell us what u used ... camera settings etc :)
camera model, exp. time, ISO, aperture, focal length, RAW or jpg

easier to give some pointers then ..... astro-photography is one of my big interests

just as an initial comment, it's somewhat overexposed
for shooting the moon, it's always better to underexpose a little and then brighten a little in post, if needed

cheers
Dave

Cannon, SX510HS Camera.
10mp, Nice Compact Camera, Great for holidays.

It was Set at 30 Times Optical Zoom and Just HAND HELD.
The Moon seemed Really Bright in the sky and the Picture was just taken with its Automatic Settings.

Too difficult to change setting outside in the Dark.
Besides, Until you see the picture on a Large computer Screen, it is difficult to tell the actual quality.

This is the Same Camera I used to get that Tree Kangaroo Picture.

Take care.......Gary
PS: We visited two Friends in Sidney, and a few other people elsewhere in Australia.

OK .... was looking at its features online
it doesn't have RAW image files not to worry. But it does have manual focussing and live view
Use that to manually focus on the moon ... you will get it much sharper using the live view than via the viewfinder

if you are able t manually set the shutter speed and ISO ( ISO seems to be able to be manually set ... cant tell for shutter)
experiment with various settings eg shutter ~ 320th and ISO around 200 - 500

just as a little tease on where you can go if you wanted to .....

that's with my Canon 5D3 full frame DSLR and a 400mm zoom lens :)

Keep experimenting and playing and feel free to ask me questions :)

Hi Dave, OK I will give it a try When we get some CLEAR Weather.
Definitely Rain for the Next Two Days or so.

Yes I can adjust the Shudder Speed and ISO.

Want to Talk, rather than typing, I can phone Australia for free.
Just email me your number. (chemelec at hotmail.com)
