so i want to plug an xlr into a 3.5mm on a phone for recording samples on the go.
the phone is a nexus5 and the mic is a ntg2 (it has a battery installed so it wont need phantom power)
iv wired it up as if its a TRS to XLR lead for the studio to find out that it dosent work in the phone jack.
so the phone takes a TRRS plug as in this picture http://goo.gl/SrSN9u
but iv got a TRS as in this picture http://goo.gl/S9fmsi
is there some way to make this work?
if i wire the positive from the mic into the sleeve on the TRS and the ground to the tip or the the ring (the speaker outputs) will that work? or cause a potential problem in my phone
allso i realise going out and buying a TRRS would be my best option but i live in the middle of no where and wont be going to the shops for quite a while and im allso just curiouse to know if theres a way this can work
