Need help identifying a component from HP laptop mother board

Hi,

This is my first time on the site and could use some help. Picture attached.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Looks like a PG-TDSON-8 packaged FET, pin 4 is the gate, 1-3 are the source, 5-8 are the drain. NIKO-Semiconductor, can't find the datasheet. Package aka PDFN 5x6 and others.

This is going difficult to replace: As you can see from the "left" side of the chip this kind of case is not only soldered at the pins but also on the bottom and there on a large area. This works as a heatsink. You'll need a hot air repair station, with a bit of luck and perseverance a hot air gun may do the job. It is also customary to pre-heat the pcb from the other side. Find a few tips in this discussion.

Thank you for the reply. I have a hot air rework station and a preheater. I feel confident if I can find a replacement chip, I should be able to repair the board.

Thanks again
