Thanks for replying back Kris, ok so this is what I came up with as far as separating it out. I put the reset circuit together with the switch by it'self. I think I was taking the schematic I got online a little to literal with the connections they made. Let me know if this looks like it should work now.

Yes, that looks better.

I think you need to tie the clock inhibit inputs (pin 2 on each 4026) low. Then it should be good to go!
