Looking for programming doc on DSC Power832

Personally, I was never a big fan of DSC...don't ask me why, cause I have no particular outstanding reason - just one of those things.

I've been looking for another line to carry. I don't carry many that I sell. I'll service just about anything, but I have to almost be "in love" with a product to sell it. So, I've been looking into another line to supplement what I already carry. Has to be easy to program, end-user friendly, and I have to be able to remotely program it (easily), and of course reliable.

Paradox sent me their "pretty sheets" and the remote download software, but not any tech stuff or program manuals - which to me are more important then end-user slicks. I'm gonna call her back on monday to ask for more info.

One of their keypads is excruciatingly ugly though.

How are they to manually program, what formats do they transmit.. I'm interested in installation problems...or any weirdness.

The stuff they sent was for Magellan (interesting looking keypad), Esprit and something else.

Would you put it in your house?

The DG-85's had a problem (last year) with the tamper switches, don't know
if it's still a problem now... Regards, Russ

I have the Spectra in my own home. There are no bugs or quirks that I have
found over the years with their products with the exception of the very
early versions of the Esprit before 2.0, all of which were junk and have
largely been taken out of service by now. You might want to look at the
latest lines, the Spectra and Digiplex. The Esprit is older, but rock solid
in version 3.1. It uses DOS level software that some people don't like;
however, it is very easy to use.

Upload / download software is ok, not spectacular, but ok...
