Is it possible to find serial output if you know all parts on a PCB?

The other end, where the TX from the machines is connected to the scoring (which is completely different from the PCS, mind you!) is connected to a H8/3048 microprocessor... So I can't find anything smart there either...

It just doesn't make sense to me.

The MUART in the machine control is an Intel 8256, it takes the pin output and sends to the Player Control Station. 10 switches.

Since this is capable and expected to have the same settings as the PCS, I will not go into more thoughts on what this MUART is set up to in parity and all that, but I do have this one readily available and can check if there is voltage on whatever pin you want me to to double check.
