How do I generate a switching circuit to AC and DC input sources?

Hello Everyone,

I am looking for to generate Input source switching circuit as per the available Input source.

1. I have only 2pin connector to interface Input source

2. Device can handle both DC and AC Input source, Have DC to DC converter and AC to DC(SMPS)

3. At a time Only one power can be able connected to the system which is AC or DC, as per the this swtching circuit need provide it to SMPS or DC to DC Converter.

Use a double pole double throw switch.
With reference to the website I linked above, input and output are swapped:

• What is shown as input will be the output to the device.
• What is shown as output terminals will be the input terminals for AC and DC.

Looking for the solution like there is no human interference in switching, need a self intelligent circuit like input source sense and take action towards

One simple method:
Use a double throw double pole relay. Connect the relay coil to Dc power (you may need a voltage regulator to match the relay coil voltage to the DC power source voltage.
As long as DC power is present, the relay is active and your load is powered by the DC source.
When DC power fails, the relay will become inactive and switch to AC power.

You are giving not enough information for more detailed help:

• What voltage levels (AC and DC) are used?
• What currents are involved?
• What is the default state of the switch in case both AC and Dc are available.
