Hi all. I bricked my Nintendo DS in a freak accident, and I'm going to take this as an excuse to get my hands dirty with electronics.
There exists a procedure (image) to unbrick a DS by rewriting the firmware from a computer. It's not important that you read it, but it's fairly complicated. It involves soldering connections from points inside the DS to a parallel port on a PC.
The obvious problem, is that most computers don't have parallel ports these days. What's the best modern alternative? Are Arduinos good for this sort of thing?
Well, that's the main problem, but my inexperience leaves me a bit overwhelmed with some of the details. I'm open to the idea of starting with smaller projects, though I'm not sure where I would begin. Thanks for any help.
