DSC 1555MX / LCD5501Z does not display any trouble code but flashes after *2

I started having a problem with my DSC 1555MX / LCD5501Z combination
(I have 2 identical keypads on the default partition settings). After
trying to add a wireless receiver kit, the trouble light went on, and
* 2 displayed trouble code 1 but would not go away anymore, even after
disconnecting the wireless kit from the keypad bus. So I did a
902/903 sequence as suggested by some people on this group, and
trouble code 1 went away (the LCD display showed a number "1" after
903). The problem however did not get resolved after this, as the
siren no longer activates when opening a door when the alarm is armed,
and when I go into *2 the trouble light flashes but no error codes are
being displayed anymore, even though something is obviously still
wrong. Would anyone have any idea of what might be going on? A full
system test makes the siren go off, so there is no wiring problem with
the siren itself, and I tried to power down the whole system several
times, with no changes in this behavior. Many thanks.

When you did the 903, the '1' indicates that keypad 1 is installed on the
system. If the trouble light is still on, do a *2 and look for the small
number on the top of the display, not the large number on the left.
