DC motor hookup for reuse ( recycle)

Hi all, I need some help on the reuse of a couple of DC motors I recycled from an old Segway.
I have 2 projects in mined one is to use it as a speed regulated motor and the other to use it for power generation on a small wind turbine.
I never worked with this type of a motor so I'm a bit at a loss how to hook it up.

Here are some pictures of the motor, maybe someone could help me with this.

Look like brushless ac motors to me.....

Appears to be Fischer-Paykel style outrunner motors . Similar to used in washing machines.
They will generate 3phase AC, If DC required will need a 3ph rectifier.

You can get basic 3-phase motor controllers from the usual far East suppliers that will cope with that type of motor.
