Cannon get any sound on my camcorder when tape is played back, The instructions say go to menu, make sure "stereo" is selected on instead of Hi-FI snd setting. i do this and the display says stereo but i cant get that setting to stay, it reverts back to the "Hi-Fi snd" setting?
Is the mode you're trying to play, actually recorded in the 'stereo' mode?
Maybe the audio signal is different from whatever you're trying to play it back on(?)
Maybe somebody forgot to enable the audio when recording(?)
Have you got some other stored video that you know works, that you can compare?
