Can mosfet driver supply continuous current of 2Amps?

Hello

I am using a MOSFET driver circuit to supply power from one section to another section in my design.
I need to pass 2Amps current from one section to another section in my design.
I have selected SI2301 (p-channel mosfet) and SI2302 (n-channel mosfet).

For how long can the mosfet driver circuit supply a continuous current of 2 Amps?

Rds(on) is 120mΩ (at 4.5V Vgs) so passing 2A will dissipate around 0.5W.

The package is rated at 1.25W so you're well within the recommended limits therefore it should last indefinitely.

Your circuit would probably work better if R63 and R65 are replaced with direct connections, thus insuring a full 5V drive for the MOSFET gates..
 
- the chip will heat up enough to burn your finger even if add some copper heat spreading to the board on the drain. If you don't it will over heat fast.

- Maximum Junction-to-Ambient = 166 'C/W means with 0.5W the junction rises 83'C+ ambient temp. to perhaps 110 'C .

- looking at p3 the RdsOn will rise 45% at this temp meaning another 1/4W now the temperature rise is 166 'C/W*3/4W to 120'C rise. This is called thermal runaway. So if you do not add copper heat spreader area of at least 2cm^2 it may overheat in less than a minute past 150'C You ought consider a lower RdsOn FET.
