Can a 6v light bulb blow a 12v transformer

A bit strong but true. Technically, all electrical failures are caused by heat.
Be it a fuse, or a failed component.
Even vibrations produce heat, which can cause the insulation to rub off, or a conductor / filament to fail due to friction at a weak spot.
