? about forcing motor to turn in the opposite direction to powered rotation.

Trying to determine what would happen if a 12 V DC electric motor was powered to rotate CW, and the rotor shaft was forced to run CCW with greater force.
Would the motor burn out at a much quicker rate compared to the motor not turning while being powered, or not burn out ?
Thanks.

Any force that causes a reduction in speed creates a greater current drain due to loss of back emf.
Locked rotor would be maximum.
Result would be damage to both rotor and field windings (if any)

No! The current would be high with a locked rotor which could burn out the motor but if the motor were driven backwards at its rated speed, then the voltage to be considered would be double the applied voltage and the current would be double so the heat generated would be up by four times.
