2-meter RF Transmitter/Receiver

Hi

I am looking for RF Transmitter/Receiver circuits something like shown in this video:

I need the Rx to light up an LED as long as a signal is received at the input of the Tx.
I understand that the circuits shown in the video can easily fulfill my requirements, but since my required working range is only 2 meters (even 1 meter would do); I want a minimum components set-up without involving those Rx/Tx modules.

Any help/suggestions shall be highly appreciated.

EDIT: The antennas in both circuits should preferably be short.
