hi pierce
a belated welcome to the forums :)

I would suggest the lack of responses is probably partly due to the lack of information from you about the unit.
is it 12V in 240V out ? or some other voltage ??
is it the output fuse or the input fuse thats blowing ?
have you taken the cover off ?
are there any obviously blown components?

you havent told us what model of inverter just a brand name
have you done any google searching on the make and model to see if there is any service info available ?

in short, help us to help you :)

cheers
Dave

Hello,

It is a Nikkai 1000W Inverter,
12V DC In, 230V AC Out.

Unfortunatly, having googled, I can find no useful information about either the manufacturer or the inverter and the chassis is not marked with any model or serial number (although I did find it on the Maplin website: http://www.maplin.co.uk/1000w-12v-inverter-224283).

When I open the case I can see 3 sets of 25amp fuses. Overload and fault lights come on after 10 seconds of operation and then 1 set of 25amp fuses blow.

No damage to components (apart from the fuses) is visable and there is no smell (burning or otherwise).

I am hoping to find a circut diagram for the inverter.

Pierce.
