I think the answer might be " Throw it out. Buy a new one. ", but I'll askanyway.
I have a Sony " Mini HiFi Component System " model FH-B411. The cd player won't play music.
The cd tray opens and closes with no problem, but when you put on a music cd and then you close the tray it doesn't sound as if it spins the cd and therefore doesn't read it. Of course I tried with different cds but same result. The rest of the mini component system works perfectly.
I haven't opened it because I want to know what should I'd be looking for, what is the "broken" part to fix. Also, I don't want to make it worse. Using the video option with an auxiliary cable cord I hook up my ipod or my portable cd player (I know very old) and has great sound. This one has wooden speaker boxes and sounds a lot better than any new ones I've listened to.
I really would like to finally fix the cd player of the mini component system.
I don't know if maybe I just open it and vacuum the dust it can be fixed, any ideas??
Does anyone out there know what could be done???
Thanks for any help,
Paula
