Wire One switch to multiple batteries?

I have one switch and: 1 9v battery going to LEDs, another 9v battery attached to another group of leds, another 9v battery connected to an arduino, 3x AA batteries attached to servos and another 3x AA batteries attached to a different set of servos. I want to turn on and off all these different power sources with a switch, would I have to connect all of the batteries' positives to the positive end of the switch and all the grounds to the negative on the switch? Would this work? Or would this cause a short?

Thank :)

5 separate batteries - are the five circuits all separate, or interconnected somehow? If interconnected, please post a sketch of the overall wiring play. Without that there are too many combinations to discuss in text.

If all of this is one big circuit, then you will need a 5-pole switch, of a single pole switch controlling 5 electronic switch circuits, or, or, or

Hi,

all these things are going to power a robot, so i just want one switch to turn off and on all the electronics. I've drawn a diagram, I hope this helps! Sorry for not being very clear :(

Why not use a common negative supply and one switch to turn on the Arduino. This supply would be also be used to turn on a fet or other transistor for each channel.
