Where to get PCB parts?

Hey everyone I am new to the whole DIY and PCB stuff. So I could use some help.

I want to build a guitar amplifier, so I bought a PCB of it from a website.

So I went through all the boards and figured out what parts and how many (caps, resistors, etc). Just wondering where a good source on the internet would be to get my parts, and for quality purposes can I be safe with getting everything from one place or should I get X companies resistors, X companies Caps, etc? or is it not worth the trouble.

Thanks in advance.

Where are you?

Some online stores may be better or worse depending on freight charges.

Look up Digikey, mouser, element14, futurlec, and others that I'm sure will be suggested to you.

Get everything from one place to save freight (usually the best policy)

I live in Windsor, Ontario.

Thanks Steve, I will check them out.

Hi wespalladini and welcome to this forum.

The PCB looks nice but valve projects are not the good way to start electronic DIY
because of the high voltage present on the board. As you start the component cost is also an issue, better to blow a few cent semiconductor then a highly priced valve or output transformer! So maybe it will be rewarding to take the time to build few fun small battery powered project. The are many guitar effects you can build for few bucks for example.

About the components sourcing:
Local shop are probably not the cheapest but they can provide you guidance.Online component shop like Mouser, digikey, farnell, futurlec, jameco and others should have many of the parts you need but no guidance.. Some companies are more specialized for thinks live valves but for classic components they are all OK. So yes you can mix the companies knowing that you must take multiple shipping cost into account. Take care also about components rating, pin spacing and mounting (axial, radial).
