There have been several hundred messages in the last few days, praising
or slagging off the rival broadband proposals. As far as I can see
nothing has been achieved, nobody's pre-conceived notions have been
changes, no useful information has been disseminated and the shills from
both sides are having a field day mouthing their masters' propaganda.

Come next week we should know whether we will have to wait a few years
to see whether Labor comes good with it's promises or whether things
will stay the way they were 5 years ago until the copper network rots
away and nothing that anybody writes here will have the slightest effect
on the result.

So perhaps there are more interesting things to use our pitiful amounts
of bandwidth on.

It's not like the Govt is not going to get the money back. It would be
a Hugh Cash Cow when finished, Alas the first thing the Libs would do is
sell it at the first person that comes a Knockin'

And "when it comes to" money, it's just transferring one's and zero's
from one computer to another anyway.

As long as one's and zero's are transferring from one account into
another the economy is working. Just think of all money changing hands
just from all cable installers alone. And every time it changes hands,
there's a tax.

I can see this creating lots of jobs nationally, and somebody has to
watch the billy for all those roadside workers. The only problem is,
it is Govt, and the Scammers / Rorters will be out in Force.
